Ain't No Cure For The Summertime Blues
This weekend Memorial Day was celebrated by all.
Memorial Day has long been considered the unofficial start to summer even though, technically, we have a few weeks until it actually begins.
Ugh, summer-take your time!

I know summer is meant to be all about birds twittering, lots of sun and long, lazy, carefree days. But I gotta tell ya the older I get, the less I like it.
There I said it and I make no apologies for it!
Over the years it has become clear that I am the only one brave enough to admit it.
Every time I tell people that I hate summer, they gasp and look at me as if I've committed a crime or something.
The word on the street is that people like summer. I know it might seem strange to have such a strong opinion on a season, especially one that seems so loved by everyone. I just like to zig while everyone else zags, I guess.

Anyways, here's a list of the reasons why I hate summer:
1. It's hot.
2. It's humid.
3. There are bugs everywhere.
4. There’s nothing good on TV and I don’t know why."Hey to all the network executives out there, this isn't the 1950's. People aren't spending their evenings sitting on their porch's schmoozing with neighbors anymore. They're at home, inside watching TV, put on some good shows."
5. Everything goes so s l o w l y.
6. It's impossible to sleep.
7. The almost daily occurrence of thunderstorms that knocks out my electricity for hours at a time.
8. Having to run the air conditioner 24/7 really does a number on my electricity bill.
9. The sweat! Oh, the sweat! Even though I take a shower every morning, it takes about 2 1/2 seconds after stepping outside before I'm drenched in sweat making me wonder why I even bothered at all
10. Hearing for the umpteenth time from people that it's not the heat, it's the humidity. Like that makes a difference!
11.My makeup dripping and sliding down my face.
12.After months of cold weather keeping us all inside, the belief that we should all be out somewhere, anywhere, taking advantage of all the "nice" weather out there.
13.SWEATY ARMPITS. Yours and mines!

Did I mention that it's hot, humid and there are bugs everywhere? (Yeah well, they need another mention.)

Find me good things about any one of them and then I’ll stop complaining. Maybe.

In the end I say, Labor Day can't come soon enough for me.
