 Earth Day 2010
Do you know what April 22, 2010 is? It's Earth Day; it's 40th anniversary as a matter of fact.

SideNote: Earth Day was founded in April 22, 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson.
I despise Earth Day. I'm serious. It makes my head hurt.

What!? How could anyone hate the earth? No silly. It's not the Earth that I hate; it's all the crazy talk about drowning polar bears and holes in the ozone layer. It's "Chicken-Littleism"(fake word-my website- roll with it.) at it's worst.

I support protecting the environment. But do we really need a holiday for it? Let’s face it folks, it’s now the "in" thing to love the Earth.

Here it comes, the day we're supposed to do something GREEN and appreciate all the attention that this made-up holiday brings and every other environmental organization and cause under the sun.

And then there's all those people who take credit for being green for one day and we're all supposed to be happy about it. Hypocrites!

I'm worn out by people so busy proving they're Earth friendly, they would rather become semi-hoarders in an attempt to recycle the precious lil plastic soda bottles and such.

Don'tcha think we should be more environmentally conscious all the time and in little ways, not just for one day a year and frustrating everyone (by everyone, I mean myself).Geez.

In the words of a great American "So April 22 is Earth Day. Now you may look at Earth Day as another useless "holiday" that appears on your calendar, one that does not warrant an actual vacation day, where people parade around about trees and ironically, Hallmark sells more cards, (I kid you not.)
Another gimmicky day full of false promises to make some change, environmentally that is. Meanwhile about a week or so later, everything will go back to the same."
Wow! I totally agree! Who wrote these unbelievably enlightening words ? Why ME! Girliegamer! Earth Day 2009.
Check it out.

This Earth Day thingy is nothing more than a day for patting ourselves on the back for remembering - one day a year - that we should turn off the faucet while brushing our teeth, to take baths instead of showers (ick) and just to be that little bit kinder to this planet we call Earth.

Although if the whole Save the Earth thing turns out to be a total waste and global warming isn't real, you have to admit the idea of Al Gore's Nobel Peace Prize getting taken away would be kinda funny.
May the forest be with you.
