You couldn't peel me away from newgrounds.com Ah, remember how much fun you had as a kid with your little lemonade stand, you sitting there with your paper cups lined up in a row, ready to serve all the thirsty people that passed by. Yeah Well Me Either! What I remember is sitting there all day under a blazing hot sun with warm watered down lemonade nobody wanted. Ho hum (clears throat) Well anyway, it's a good thing the game "JuicePlz" came along, now I can finally manage a successful juice stand and all those bad, bad memories can be forgotten! "JuicePlz" is a self proclaimed "fast paced management game" that involves owning and working a juice stand. The execution of is pretty simple, the customers slide in and order their customized drink of choice. Their order is shown in a bubble above their heads. Their request remains in the bubble, thank goodness, so no memorization is required here. A juice request most often involves a mix of 2 or more fruits. It is your job to prepare it correctly and quickly. For example, a little boy would like juice with 1 strawberry and 2 bananas, you must click on the strawberry box once, and then click on the banana box twice and mix it into the blender. Easy, Peasy, so far. Using the blender is where the gameplay gets sticky and messy however, you must hit the RED button on the blender to mix the fruit into juice and the WHITE button stops it if you make a mistake. Hmm? RED = start, and WHITE =stop? Once you have remembered this backward button feature, you must hit the RED button again to fill the cup and drag it to the thirsty customer. Cha Ching let the cash register ring. Each level requires you to earn a certain amount of cash in order to advance to next level and you are rewarded with fancy fruit being added to your inventory. Customers slide in from the left and right sides of the screen, slowly at first but inevitably as the game progresses, their speed picks up. Pretty soon you will get multiple customers in front of you and their requests will look identical, so will the customers by the way. You see, the customer "types" are identical. For example, the men in suits are drawn identically to one another, so you must be careful to give the correct request to the right customer. Thank goodness for the ever present bubble over their heads this was the saving grace a lot of times. I wonder if this was done deliberately by the game makers in order to make the game a little more challenging,) or is it just a lack of artistic ability? A challenge is thrown at you at times, in the form of vulture like birds that fly over your stand. You must click to kill them or they will poop everywhere and your stand will be closed down for unsanitary conditions, I liked this little diversion added into the gameplay. Now let's discuss the graphics, I was really digging the look of the fruit more so than the look of the people, the fruits were yummy and juicy looking and it gave the game a very happy overall feel. The sounds of the game came in the form of a boom box that will allow you to pick, change, or to turn off altogether. All of the soundtrack selections were pleasant which helped enhance the overall good feeling of the game. All in all, I found "JuicePlz" to be cool, refreshing and full of pulp, even if I did come across a few seeds and pits from time to time! Get Juiced here!!
